Another black man dies at the hands of a racist, Riots in the streets across America, looting, cars on fire, National Guard called in. 103,000 dead in three months from a pandemic our President and his son initially called a democratic hoax. 40 million now unemployed. Yesterday he retweeted a message that included “ the only good democrat is a dead democrat”. By anyone’s account that alone should be considered an extremely poor choice for the leader of this Country. Last night instead of addressing the nation, he continued to spar on Twitter.

It’s like 1968 but much worse. The president makes it worse. He’s unfit to serve. He should be resign.
Right now this is America and no one is coming to save us. If we are to be what we once thought we were it is going to have to begin with our mayors, our governors, our police chiefs, ourselves. One heart at a time, one street at a time, we can protest injustice, insist on justice for all, and strengthen our communities, building them up not burning them down.
There is an old Sicilian saying, “The fish stinks from the head.” When a leader encourages violence, spews hateful messages all day and night, and takes no responsibility for his actions, this is what you get. He plays with fire daily and now our cities have been caught in the flames. The issues are bigger than the man of course, and they have smoldered below the surface for a long time but we are left rudderless with broken masts and sails dragging in the water because our captain has left the bridge to tweet.
May we summon the grace, amazing grace, to find a path to a new and more just city on a hill. “That is the mystery of grace, it never comes too late” “….it meets us where we are and does not leave us where if found us.” We are lost right now and blind but can be found and see more clearly. Bless us everyone.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does. How in the hell do you force people away from a church with rubber bullets and tear gas in order to get a photo op with a bible in your hand? Is this a joke? (Didn’t any of his people tell him what an asshole he looked like?)
