Growing things is hard to do when the soil is dry.
No snow this winter, not much rain this Spring so far..
Weird. The lawn and gardens are actually dusty dry.
It makes for alot of watering added to farm chores.
There are some pretty things sprouting and blooming, despite the drought.
Peas.
Do you remember “helicopters” that drifted down on the breeze?…
Did you pick them up and split them, put them on your nose?
Why do we stop doing things like that…
age does not always equal wisdom.
I don’t care that these are considered a weed.
They’re beautiful.
and..
we should all do more of this.
Great pics Karen. Were having same problem here. That looks very cozy around the fire pit.
Wish I could give you the rain we had yesterday and last Sunday. It's slowing down some construction we're having done and I'm ready for it to be over… before they tear up something else.
We're in serious drought conditions here also. Wildfires everywhere. 🙁
Beautiful photo's. I just love where you live. 🙂
We had a gazillion helicopters fall a few weeks ago since we are ahead of you. We were really dry and then have had some rain this week. I hate those weeds and will be killing more today hopefully. They are trying to take over and they will not win!
Beautiful pictures and thanks for the reminder. Love the last shot of the adirondack chairs around the fire pit…relax;)
Spring is certainly in full force out your way despite the dry conditions. We were dry too, but have had rain for several days and hope the sun isn't far behind it! Love seeing all your blooms- can't wait for my own to appear!
Loved the aqua around your blog and now the linen!
Have a good weekend!
Oh… would love to do some Adirondack chair sittin' today but way too many other things in the way. Already been to a craft show and the vet's office for pup meds and now need to do the grocery thing. No rest for the wicked as THEY say. Dandelions really are pretty… too bad no one wants to be their friend.
sorry you're already feeling the effects of a non-existent winter. i love those cute red/yellow flowers, whatever they are.
Beautiful images of Spring Karen! And, sounds like we're getting some much needed rain this weekend! Thank goodness!
love those hens and chicks, Karen. to me, they always seem so cheerful!
Oh, Karen, it's so very beautiful there! I bet those flowers blooming up are such a boost—they are to me & I'm not even there in real life to see them. It's still very brown here, but when we were outside this morning the sun packed some heat and I could hear the meadowlarks are singing–such a sign of life this springtime business. I absolutely LOVE it!
I hope you get some Spring rains to water the pretty flowers and trees. The clouds are heavy here in the mountains today….like it will rain any minute!
Sorry you're having a drought. I hope you get some rain soon, especially for that massive garden you've got!
I still love helicopters. 🙂
Enjoy your weekend.
Pam
Karen, once we HAVE grass I'll be more than glad to do more of that!…:)JP
I thought a first you said you put the "airplanes" up your nose!;>) We all need to do some of those fun things, don't we?
Love the picture of the chairs in the field. xo Diana
Ah! You just reminded me I'm supposed to be replacing our hammock…it has seen MUCH better days and we really need a new one! I'm going to try to find a Pawley's Island one.
LOVE all the pictures, but I really like those Adirondack chairs!!
Today is the very first rainy day we have had in I can't remember how long!
I heard on the news last night that we are already 9 inches below what we should have for rainfall this year…and its only April! I am thankful for this rain on Earth Day:)
Gorgeous blooming things there!
Having had little snow and well below average rainfall, we too are a tad dry.
Hope we all get seasonal rains needed for crops and water supplies.
