Barn, baby :-)

The framing crew arrived today – they will put up the walls of my horse barn, and then move up the hill to the equipment barn.  I’m doing a happy dance ~

I finished my perennial rock/shell/driftwood garden at the side door too…

Sarah Palin’s tanning bed and trampoline e-mails revealed
C*sey Anthony’s hideous murder trial
Yet another Weiner cluttering the news (why is it still surprising??)
Weird weather everywhere
I’m am so tired of the non-stop crapitude that is our news – I’m tuning it out.
Barn and garden  – that’s where you’ll find me
doing a happy dance..

  1. Wow a new horse barn…wow! My dream..

Yes I totally agree with you about the "news"..mind boggling to say the least…

I find my peace in the garden and outdoors too..whether it is living up to my expectations or not…it is just peace.. I have found that I am most relaxed and happy cleaning out a stall or checking plants…it is a "way of life.." many do not understand.

I am doing a happy dance for you!

  2. So happy for you, Opie, and the mini's!! Hooray!
And the news? UGH. I'm with you on this one! What a sad little man that Weiner is! Just sayin'.
Have fun in your garden, Karen!
Hopefully I will be blogging soon. I have had a terrible week.
    xo, misha

  3. I wholeheartedly agree about the news. I take a glimpse every morning just to see if I missed anything important (Wiener and his wiener) doesn't constitute anything important to me. Just another so and so. Then I carry on with my day, including music or quiet instead of news. I never watch it before bed. Again, yoga, quiet and prayer are the only way to sleep peacefully – no news is good news. Congrats on the barn raising. I can't wait to follow along.

  5. Your perrenial garden is beautiful and I can't wait to see your barn completed.

I agree with you on the news! I try to stay away from it all…the bloggy world is much friendlier and so much more encouraging.

  6. Congratulations on the barn raising! What a fun time to watch it all come together. I love your new perennial garden too.

I agree about the crap in the news. Better to hang out in the garden! 🙂

    Have a great weekend.
    Pam

  7. Doin' a happy dance here for you too! 🙂

The news; I don't even want to know about that weiner guy. UGH!!

  8. Oh I will bet yoo are just so excited you can hardly stand it! Can't wait to see it up! I am sick of all the crap on the news too…I will say that Wiener's name fits him! xo Diana

  9. Major barn envy! I don't think I even know who those people are you are talking about…. no cable, no national networks, just good ole South Dakota Public TV. Don't think I miss the channels at all. (By the way, did you win the lottery? lol )

  10. I hear you on the news, girl. Most of it is over, already, except the weather victims, who still need alot of help.

I'm so jealous of your barn! I'm sure our old farmstead had one at one time, but not now. Looking forward to seeing the progress (and some of the builders ain't too shabby either. You can take more pics of them too.)

    🙂

  11. I was going to do a happy dance for you, but I was afraid of what the guys might think on the boat.
Look at you go, new barn, I'm sure your pumped. I loved that garden, eclectic, with all the different stuff, lovin the shells. May I steal that idea. Did a boat load of gardening, mulching etc before leaving home, your garden is beautiful.

  12. How great to have two barns–When eldest daughter was a teen she boarded a horse at a wonderful stable–it must have been 75 yrs. old! Huge rafters, a hay loft- horseshoes nailed over each stall. It had such character, but sadly, it was torn down for improvement–as if a car wash is an improvement!
I'm with you on the news–just don't care to dwell on the bad and the sad.

  13. Building days are exciting days! Can't wait to see the finished barn.

    Love the pink guara flowers!

And I'm with you on the news thing. I find I'm much happier not knowing at all.

  14. With your big beautiful house and gardens, and animals, and family and frequent posts…I am trying to figure out where you get all your energy! It must be your youth!

Just to let you know…I get all of my news from the Daily Show:) It is the only way I can stand it!

  15. Lovin' your garden Karen! I have shells in mind too!! Driftwood is great…always a good garden filler!! Joining you in your happy dance for the barn!!! WOOHOO!!

  16. Oh I just can't wait to see your barn finished and your horses in it. Just like you probably. Are you sure it's a happy dance and not a rain dance? Just asking because it started to rain here.
    😉
