Today is the first day of the Bid, Barter, Bake & Bark sale held at the lovely Essex, CT home of Lorin G., Founder of Dog Days Adoption Events – at 101 N. Main Street. I snuck over and took some pics… including a few of this adorable fellow who needs a home. His story is a horror, notice he has no ears. You’d never know it by his awesome disposition with kids, other dogs, and people in general. How he managed to trust in humans after what he was put through as a pup attests to the true loving, loyal nature of the dog.
If you live near Essex, tomorrow is another day for the sale. Come have a cupcake, a glass of fresh squeeszed lemonade made by these lovely little ladies, browse the treasures and meet this handsome guy!
Is he a love, or what?….
My heart just sunk to the floor seeing those ears. And yet, look at that sweet, happy face!
I won't say what I'd do to someone that hurt an animal. Or what I'd like to do anyway. Far too graphic.

i would SO buy a few cupcakes (my lordy, here they'd be a puddle on the pavement…) and a glass of that find lemonade from those sweet lemon squeezers! 🙂
I wish I was up in CT now to attend that. I would have snagged him for one of my infamous body massages!!!…:)JP
What a sweetie the doggie is! I hope he finds a terrific home!
What a precious face on the pup. I sure hope he finds a loving home. He deserves it. Love the lemonade ladies too. Happy 4th Karen.

Someone did the same horrific thing to a dog last year in the city next to us. It was on the front page of our local paper. Theses horrible people used scissors. I cried for that poor dog. Real life monsters walking amongst us. Good luck with all your good work Karen on behalf of these wonderful animals that can't help themselves.
Karen,
Essex is a beautiful town. Used to go to the Griswold Inn years ago. I got engaged there my junior year of college.
Good luck with your event and I hope the pup finds a good home.
Carol
Good luck! He does INDEED look like he is a sweetheart, with personality.
Golly darn ~ If I hadn't rescued so many, I'd take one more. Please let know that pooch went to a great home. I won't be able to sleep if you don't. Those little sunshine sweeties selling their goodies are just adorable. Can't wait to hear how everything went.

You have to keep us in the loop about the doggy. Where is he going?
What a great event!
What a sweetheart … so hope he finds a home!
Oh, poor doggie. So hard to believe that anyone could be that cruel! Looks like a fun sale.
I would be ALL over those cupcakes, sister!!
That dog is seriously cute. You can tell he's gotta whole lotta love to give!
oh for the love of our four legged friends…..thanks for sharing these photos with us and treating us to a cold cup of lemonade…..xo
I stopped reading when you said something about his ears. I simply cannot bear to read about these people who mistreat animals…it truly makes me ill. Best of luck to this fabulous guy…hope he finds a perfect furever home! Your pics are truly amazing!
Gorgeous boy!
People are *ssholes but lucky for animals like him, there are more AWESOME people than jerks:) Awesome people like you!
I'd like to have a go at the ears of the people who did this to the dog. I so so so hope that he finds a really good and loving home.
I'm giving you a huge, warm virtual hug and a big fat kiss. You are awesome 😉
I would have loved to have come by, Karen. What a cute venue and the little lemonade vendors are sweet. 🙂
