Marilyn’s House

Marilyn Monroe died three years before I was born, but her story always intrigued me. I don’t think the true full story will ever be revealed. The mob, a famous baseball player, a movie mogul, the Kennedys!… whodunit is right.

I feel sorry for the celebrities who get caught up and die in the wicked machinery that is Hollywood.  Anna Nicole Smith is another who wasn’t mentally strong enough to handle the crush.  Will somebody please save Lindsay Lohan, even if it’s from herself?!

Marilyn’s house is on the market…12305 5Th Helena Drive Los Angeles,  – $3,595,000.
She lived there for  just the  last six months of her life and it’s her place of death as well.

What a beautiful little oasis it apparently was not.

  1. Such a lovely home for such a sad end. I was a child when she died, but I still remember the Special Report that interrupted the daytime programming on our black and white tv. My sister was across the street playing at the neighbor's house and I went over to see if they had heard. I have also been intrigued by the enigma surrounding her supposed "suicide". Just as who was really behind the JFK assassination, I guess we will never know.

  2. It is sad, isn't it? I just read the Anna Nicole Smith book…amazing the parallels between those two! Marilyn's little oasis was quite nice though!

  3. It is a gorgeous, seemingly peaceful home. Unfortunately, Marilyn's demons were too much even in such a splendid setting. Love the bedroom and that high ceiling.

  4. I'm sure there are many, many people who have pondered what really happened to her. And, I agree about L. Lohan; she seems to be on a path of self destructions. It's truly sad!

  5. Iced tea anyone? Your header photo sure has me thirsting for some.

I always loved Marilyn's breathy voice… so soft for a grown woman as was Jackie Kennedy's voice. And Marilyn's movies were always so much fun to watch even if she did long to be a serious actress.

    (I love her house!!)

  6. I love Marilyn Monroe. When I was a wee baby-girl I truly thought she was an angel.

I was maybe three years old when I saw her come on stage to sing happy birthday to Mr. President. She shimmered in the lights from her hair to her beautiful dress.

That memory has stuck with me for a long time and started my craving for anything Marilyn.
