Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

Now there’s a good book, and I bet you thought this might be a very interesting post.   I wish I had something witty to write here, but alas, the reason it sits up there as the post title is because these fountains I’ve been drooling over at the local garden center remind me of those old Savannah gardens.

One of my most favorite things to do this time of year is browse the local greenhouses.  I rarely leave empty-handed, and today it took much willpower to walk away from these fountains without a purchase.  Could have something to do with the fact that it would require a second mortgage or a big lottery win.

Savannah… Someday I’ll get there for atleast a visit… it’s on my list.  Perhaps I can convince the Man that it would be cheaper to just buy the  fountain. …for now.

  1. Ooooh, bleeding hearts! One of my faves!!!!!!

Oh wait… I need one more exclamation point !

    Di

  2. I'd be willing to be you will get a fountain. Then you would never need to leave the beautiful old house, to visit one. Beautiful photos!

  3. Oh Karen! I love these fountains!!! Bleeding hearts are one of my faves too! Hope you do get to Savannah one day….I love Georgia…but do not love the humidity and the bugs that accompany the humidity!! When we stayed in St. Simons last year, it rained FIVE inches in just three days. Not Fun!! But it is so pretty there!!

  4. Aren't those amazing! I would take one too, or two… they would look completely out of place in my backyard, but hey, I'd enjoy them anyways. Savannah is amazing!!! We toured just one of the older homes and there are hundreds to pick from. You must go!!

  5. Oh, I agree. I love the inspiration of walking through garden centers. And would also love to have a fountain, if only it didn't seem like it would be comical in my small city yard.

  6. I love garden centers as well! I'll be spending time in many of them in the next few weeks I'm thinking.

I didn't read the book, but I really enjoyed the movie! Did you see it?

  7. I too want to put a fountain in my courtyard. I haven't decided what it will be yet. When we lived out in the country we had one similar to the above but, now the style must me different in a beach setting. In the meantime, I think I'll just get a little bird bath so at least I have some water in the garden for the birds to play in.
