Name That Flavor Give-Away

OK folks – you know I’ve talked a little about Mike’s new venture with the Gelato company, Roba DolceSee Button that The Blue Ridge Gal helped me make, click for website on right  –    I am happy to report Roba Dolce is growing in leaps and bounds.  They have just enhanced their line of flavors and many new stores nationally and internationally are signing on to carry their gelato and sorbetto.  A revamp of the website is scheduled for some time this month and the Patriots Stadium contract is in full swing.  Below is the new mascot costume which will make its debut in the bleachers soon – check Matt out, he ‘s made for this work, don’t ya think?  He’s also Mike’s other wife, the two are attached at the cellphone, 24-7.  I won’t complain though – Matt is the reason we can now say we make a killer sauce.

So here’s the deal on the give- away.  They are looking for new flavors and they’d really like to know what consumers want to see in the stores . The website tells you what they already have.   In my comments section, give us any new flavors you’d recommend for a gelato or a sorbetto. Be sure to be specific which one it should be… for instance, lemon and blood orange are sorbettos because their flavor lends it self to an icier texture,  whereas pistachio and raspberry chocolate almond are flavors that call for a creamier texture.  Anonymous commenters will have to either e-mail me (see sidebar) with your e-mail contact info or leave an e-mail address with their comment because I have to know how to contact you to give you your free gelato and sorbetto if your flavor is chosen.  Whoever comes up with the flavor combos Roba Dolce decides to use will win a case of gelato and sorbetto shipped directly to your house. I’ll leave this post up for a few days, spread the word and lets see what we can come up with! ….

This is the newly enhanced Raspberry Chocolate Almond – my favorite!
I was longing for a raspberry chocolate flavor and Matt threw in the almonds.
He got it going, and it was a hit!

Some stores, like Krogers, carry us under their  brand name –
In Stop & Shop we are Simply Enjoy…
 So.. let’s  hear it!

  1. Oh, its 10 in the morning and um, is gelatto for breakfast allowed?

    Only 3 (wink)? Okay..

    Gelatto:
Chocolate and ancho chile, black licorice or Anise, red velvet cake…

Sorbetto: raspberry lime, strawberry margarita, mojito

Fingers crossed Roba Dolce is headed to a store near us soon!!

  2. I wish they sold the gelato in my area….Sigh. I love island flavors…I some how can never get enough…

Coconut, macadamia, dark chocolate chunks with maybe a little pineapple??? ; )

    What do you think?

  3. Hmmm . . .

    Coffee and cinnamon

    Raspberry and lemon

Let me know if I'm not getting the difference between the two types, because I'm betting I'm not. Heh!

Of course, and goes without saying, throw some chocolate in there, anywhere, and see where it sticks.

    Fun! I want to win!

  4. Okay, I know I can't win this, because I don't have a clue what gelatto is..I have heard of it, but never tried it. Yup, farm girl from mennonite country in Alberta-let's talk sheltered. 🙂

Now, I might be out to lunch ( good chance of that) but some sort of a tart flavor, like a lime or lemon might be good. Around here we love to make ice cream at Christmas time with peppermint chunks too, so possibly a minty flavor? I might be blasphemous even throwing the word ice cream in this paragraph-but I'm totally lost…and just thought I would make a humble suggestion.

This is so neat, SO NEAT, this is what your husband does. I poured over the website and thought it was so cool. 🙂

  5. You are so cruel! How could you show me such loveliness as Raspberry Chocolate Almond with me not able to buy it! How many eons will it take for it to come to rural Nova Scotia Canada? How long must I crave this treat?

  6. Hmmmm…what about just fresh coconut…made with coconut milk? This sounds dreamily good! And I love the "other wife's outfit". Does he shave his legs?;>) Hugs-Diana

  7. Okay, my other suggestions:

    cherry pineapple
    lemon pineapple
    almond mocha would be tasty.
    chocolate/peanut butter
    peppermint & milk chocolate
    toasted marshmallow & milk chocolate

Lastly, I'd like to suggest something with maple syrup, to represent my heritage! 🙂 Can't think of something to go along with it. 🙂

  8. Coffee…..with small chunks of real coffee beans or hazelnuts that have been dipped in dark chocolate.
Cherry…using those delicious dark red cherries grown in Washington State with chucks of dark chocolate. You could call it George's Cherry.
    Ginger…..with pieces of gingersnap cookies.
Pineapple chunks with macadamia nuts and coconut.
I love peppermint stick!!! especially with hot fudge!!!!!!!!

    Now for the sorbetto….
    Cranberry with lime.
    Blueberry/lemon
    Use real Chardonay with raspberrys….

  9. you know I am a fan already! I do miss certain flavors tho and it is nice to see some of them coming up in the future:)
As for what flavors would I suggest…
    1. There has to be some kind of coffee gelato…expresso is my preference but cappucino would be just fine…and add any kind of nut to it would only be icing on the cake so to speak:)
    2. Candied ginger gelato! This is my favorite ice cream so I can only imagine that it would also be my favorite gelato:)
    3. Peach gelato…can you just imagine this?
    4. And Chocolate Sorbetto for those of us watching our calories…it is like sinning without fear of going to hell:)

  10. This stuff rocks!!!

How about these for new flavors:
Strawberry Cheesecake with cheesecake bits (Gelato)
    Dark/Milk/White Chocolate Blend (Gelato)
Vienna Mocha with Dark Chocolate Chunks (Gelato)

Can you tell I like anything chocolate??

  11. Just another thought…how about a blend of the 2 in one! Kind of like a creamsicle.

Tangerine (Sorbetto) & Creamy Vanilla of the (Gelato)

    YUM!

  12. This is so much fun. How about Baileys Irish Cream with chocolate chunk gelato, cannoli cream with mini chocolate chips gelato, and creme brulee gelato. Now for the sorbettos. Key lime pie sorbetto, passion fruit and kiwi sorbetto and summer berry sorbetto (strawberries, raspberries and blackberries)

  13. We've had the Private Selection brand and it's great! We were just served the tropical coconut at a friend's house last week and I noticed our daughter had some in her freezer- everyone's buying it!

  14. WOW, they all look so good. I just bought some kiwi fruit at the grocery, it's very abundant right now. Would it work in a sorbetto flavor? I suppose that mixing it with strawberry and filtering the seeds might work. Anyway, it sounds good to me…

  15. Okay, I should have read these before I sent u an email this morn. 🙂

I read pineapple and peach, but not together. I'm thinking plain peach with bits of pineapple. Do I win. LOL

Have a great day, Karen! 🙂

  16. Be still my heart. I love me some gelato. My dream combo would be coconut with chocolate chunks and maybe some almonds. I see you already have mango sorbetto which would be a close second. Yum!

  17. ok, Karen, how about a "Cape Codder" with orange and cranberry? Pour a bit of vodka sauce on it, and you'll be in every college bar on the east coast…

How about this snow storm? We got about 20"…

  18. Pink grapefruit? That is another favorite.

How about Melon and cream, a sort of Creamscicle like we had when we were kids?

And my favorite gelato in italy was rice… really. Risso.

  19. Roba Dolce, Roba Dolce, Roba Dolce…it's on my list now! Maybe Salted Caramel or Aztec Chocolate, a mexican chocolate with a little ancho chili? Strawberry Rhubarb pie is a favorite summer pie, would that make a good sorbeto?

  20. I love what others have commented on!
    Salted Caramel
    Blueberry
    Pumpkin
    all sound wonderful!
As I adore my morning coffee……
Hazelnut Coffee ~ Sweet & light!
    🙂

  21. Gelatto: I'd love to see a Coffee Toffee Mocha Crunch – coffee ice cream with crunchy bits of toffee and chocolate chips. I make this concoction at home and it's always a huge hit.

    🙂
    ButterYum

  22. I didn't give my combo! A sorbetto… lime with cream swirled in it! (I make lime jello and swirl cream cheese in it…not sure if that would work in ice cream but it makes a great flavor!) That sounds wonderful to me here in Florida!
