It’s a wonderful thing….
Town folk gathering together
not to debate an issue
not to argue politics
not to weather a disaster
not to mourn a loss
But to enjoy the spirit of the season
together, united.
For nothing but JOY..
the best gift life has to offer.
why isnt there more things like that . We were watching a movie over the weekend and there was a tree lighting and carols being song . Sounds cheesy but I would love to live in a tight and small community like that!!!!!
Special indeed! Those kids will remember these moments more than what they receive under the tree I bet!
It's so pretty with the lights strung in the trees. And of course hot chocolate with a big bowl of marshmallows. Everyone looks like they're having a nice time.
We had our town tree lighting Saturday night! Huge event here!
Love your pics… thanks for this Karen!

Karen,
Thanks for posting the pictures from last night. It was great seeing all these people of all ages gathering together for just "old fashion fun" It was a real "community" event. The Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Women's Organization, Historical Society, Fire Dept.and the Boy and Girl Scouts all took part. Good community feeling.
Your first picture happens to be my daughter Sarah,son-in-law Brian, and granddaughter Cecila, leaving the trail and entering the event.
It was a perfect night for our 1st Annual Tree lighting at Parmelee Farm. Thank you for being such an important component for what we are trying to do there. I hope we have many more events like this one. Keep the pictures coming!

I would wear that hat too if I were singing Christmas carols! Love it!!
So nice. I think I need a night like that for myself, a gathering of people to absorb some joy. Special.
Love this Karen! Typical New England I believe! Beautiful!
I was just about to say that looks like Parmelee Farm and then I saw the comment about it. Good weather for a hayride!
We missed the lighing here in our little town…we lost power that night and my grandchildren were visiting. We played "Truth or Dare " instead!…:)JP
I love small town America best! Looks like y'all had a delightful time, Karen. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
So wonderful, beautiful, and true. JOY!!
What a beautiful night! I loved the pictures.
great series!
I wish Diane Sawyer would put more events like this on the evening news. I love the towns that make their places so very special. It's what brings us back home.
What a fun time that would be. Looks like those there enjoyed it. Special time!
Karen, this is what Christmas is supposed to look like. So pretty and traditional.

Amazing…and the memories are priceless! Have you watched the movie, New in Town with Rene Zellweger? There are some beautiful Christmas scenes in the movie and it is one of my favorites now! ♥
Yep, if you could bottle that holiday spirit, you'd make a million. 🙂
