A Semi Formal Education

This Mothers Day weekend I learned three things –  1. -Just how grown up my son is becoming,  2. how only young people can truly walk in these shoes and pull it off gracefully – (this ability is no longer in my grasp)   – and  3. how FORMAL Freshman semi-formals have become.  This ain’t your mother’s semi-formal, I can tell you that.

This couple was just so handsome, love the blue hues between them…
 Can I have a do-over?

  1. So wonderfully adorably young and gorgeous!

I couldn't be a do over for me as there was no such thing as a freshman semi-formal in my day or place…if there was I could see me screwing it up even worse than the first time:)

  2. Oh gorgeous! They all look really chic.
I've never mastered the art of walking on high heels. Mostly because I'm quite tall (1.80 m) and taller than most people. And I'm shy 😉 Still, I sort of envy people who can do an elegant walk in gorgeous shoes *sigh*

  3. I could run, skip, hop, dance and even walk in high heels until my late 40's. Those were the days.

  4. I remember being able to walk in them, MANY years ago. Lately, I do good to walk in my flip flops, or sneakers. I don't think I want a do-over. I'd probably screw it up, again.

  5. LOL….i no longer have heels in my closet. well kitten heels maybe but they barely count !!!

    beautiful kids !!!

  6. Wow is right!! So elegant and really beautiful! No aqua net hair and Michael Jackson thriller gloves in sight 🙂

  7. I love me some pretty high heels. But, my tootsies prefer my paddock boots!!

Beautiful couples! And I love Sandra's comment~future tax slaves!!! LOL! If they only knew what lay ahead…..

    xo, misha

  8. That is a semi formal?!? Wow!!! Girls and those heels amaze me! I try and I fall. That is all there is to it! I worked with a teacher who wore those bad boys everyday! I can only imagine her feet in 10 years! I always tell the hubs that I would kill myself trying to walk in heels in downtown Charleston with all the uneven and cobblestoned streets. I don't know how the college kids do it when they all go out! I am just too old!

  9. Aww, I miss those days of having kids over for dinner before a formal and seeing everyone all dressed up and so excited! They all look so beautiful and handsome!

    Kat 🙂
