•1 package (12 ounces) yolk-free noodles
•2 tablespoons butter
•1/2 medium apple, peeled and thinly sliced ( I added more apple)
•1-1/2 cups (12 ounces) Sour Cream
•1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cubed
•3/4 cup sugar
•3 eggs
•2 egg whites
•1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract ( I add just a little more vanilla)
•2 cups milk
•1 jar (10 ounces) apricot preserves
Directions
•Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Toss with butter and apple; set aside. Meanwhile, beat the sour cream, cream cheese, sugar, eggs, egg whites, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and vanilla until well blended. Beat in milk. Stir in noodle mixture.
•In a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray, layer half of the noodle mixture, all of the preserves and the remaining noodle mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 55-65 minutes.
Never heard of it but it looks amazing. I could do that…I mean eat it, not cook it.
I have never made kugel because when it comes to meals, I've always been more the savory type. But I confess I've often been intrigued by it.
Love your header scene… wow!
Leading up to Christmas and weeks after, I have to focus and losing the extra weight I put on with all this great food!!!
I've never heard of this, but it sounds interesting… and looks great in the photo!
Perfect. I was looking for a little something different for the big gathering over the weekend. kugel will do quite well.
Sounds and looks very good!
You had to tell me this, right?
It looks delish.
