When I find myself running low on faith in humanity, I’m often refueled while out observing nature.
He comes every day to feed his friends. They are wary of others, but not him, it’s clear there is trust between them. After I observed for a while, he motioned me into his circle, spoke softly and encouraged the birds to take a cracker from my hand, and eventually they did, trusting him next to me.
Hello,
A great inspiring post. I love spending time with all things nature related. Neat shots of the man feeding the gulls. Enjoy your day and week ahead. Thanks for visiting my blog this past year! Happy New Year, I wish you all the best in 2020!
Happy New Year! And thank you for stopping by here as well – always enjoy your input.
What a wonderful man! Oh, this post gives me great joy.
Wishing you the happiest of new years, Karen!
He was such a gentleman, truly a good soul.
Nothing like the sea or the mountains to put humans back into place and clarify perspective. At least they do that for me. Happy New Year, Karen. Hope better things are in store for all.
Oh, we have the very same hope. 🙂
Such great photo’s, Karen. Seeing the man taking care of his ‘friends’ gives renewed hope for the mess our country is in. I needed this today.
I hope the New Year will be everything you need, and want. And, may God bless us all.
xoxo
Amen, Sally – wishing you and your family all good things in the coming year –
Such beautiful photos! I enjoyed looking at all of them. Have a wonderful 2020, Karen!
Thank you! Happy New Year –
What lovely photos. Feeding seagulls in the UK is not encouraged as they tend to help themselves to people’s chips, icecreams and what have you (and even a Chihuahua puppy from someone’s back garden a couple of months ago.)
I need to get close to nature to “touch base” and be my real self.
They do that here too, minus the puppies, LOL. We have plenty of Coyote and hawks inland that do that…
Loving so much in this post. I always wanted a labyrinth in my yard. Memories of my dad feeding birds the same patient way. Happy New Year!
My grandfather fed the squirrels. They’d come right up on the arm of his chair and take peanuts from his hand.
He made friends with birds! That is no small feat.
Right? They were wary of me, but he convinced them I was OK…
Karen, what beautiful thoughts and what exquisite photographs! Love this post!
Thank you! Happy New Year…
Hello, hello!! How did I miss knowing about your new blog, which is fantastic by the way! I’m so glad to have read your post you put out on the Blogger and redirected me. I’m following you here now and am looking forward to catching up. -Jenn
Hi Jenn! Welcome to the new space 🙂
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy the photos of the man from the sea with those gulls. Amazing that they do that as are your photos of him and the gulls. Truly Amazing photos… the make me feel GOOD looking at them I wish I could be there when he feeds them.
He’s such a gentle man – they were excited as soon as they saw him approach, which alerted me to look to see what he would do. It was wonderful to witness, and to get to be a part of.
I love these quotes! And of course I love spending time on the beach! I don’t go as often now but I still love it! I updated your blog on my sidebar just now so I can keep up with you! Hugs!
