To get to the birdfeeder under my kitchen window…
where apparently the birdseed is greener.
Our neighbors have some pretty chickens
and a few guinea hens that occasionally chase our cars down the road.
He looks angry, doesn’t he?
They are actually excellent bug hunters and tick eaters.
They weren’t thrilled about my camera,
so back to the other side they went.
..and the guineas said… Not before us!
They’re bossy little beasts.
They are hilarious!!! I can see that they were very affronted by you and your camera! I've never had guinea hens but we're thinking about it…
It would have been nice for them to lkeave you an egg or two!
Have a great weekend!!
Oh, they are so pretty!
This reminds me of the smart alecky quote, "I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned" … or something like that.
Our girls went to a preschool on a horse farm. That farm was my first exposure to guineas. A flock of guineas reminds me of a school of fish, the way they move quickly and in unison.
I see your neighbors have bamboo.
that is really cute.
That's too funny.
Chickens are soooo funny! That's a wicked looking strand of bamboo. Dave once told my Daddy, "bamboo is the closest thing to eternal life I've ever seen."
funny!
Great pictures! They are so cute.
Enjoy your weekend.

Thus, you have answered the age old questiion that has always been pondered….Why did the chickens cross the road? Because they hated having their pictures taken! xo Diana
I've heard of dogs and cats visiting but never chickens! If they came to visit me I'm afraid my dog would be having chicken for dinner …
What does Ben think?
I never realized before how colorful those guys are. Cool looking
Quick… get the dumplings ready!
Oh, but they're so cute and colorful! I could use some tick eaters here – this winter has been so mild that the deer ticks are alive and well!
xo

LOL! Nice little neighbors you have there; cute photo's.
(I'm still looking for bamboo)
Never mind, it's been so long since I've seen bamboo. 🙂
Nice to have company over for dinner — even if it's leftovers!
PS — yes, you can plant the pussy willows. If you can work the ground, you can plant them. I've got several bushes that I started from cuttings. 🙂
oh so obviously they saw you…..darn it. don't you kind of wish you had a chicken suit to put on as to fool them so you could up close with your camera 🙂
happy saturday !
xoxo
Friendly neighbors are a good thing. At least they know when to go home.
I COULD WATCH THEM ALL DAY. I CALLED ONE OF THE PICTURES. LADIES OUT FOR A WALK. I LOVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH NATURE. SO SAD WE HAVE TO KILL THEM FOR FOOD. I COULD NEVER DO IT.

I've been pushing to get guineas because the ticks are so bad. But I keep getting outvoted. I love their dotted feathers.
This was so funny! Love the photo of them leaving in a huff!
Chloe would be flipping out!!! You should see her when our flock of turkeys comes into HER yard!!! Those grey and white spotted ones are so pretty! I like them!
