It’s beginning to look…..

..just a little like Christmas.  Because… Thanksgiving Dinner is at another family members house this year. And.. I do a lot of decorating for the holidays.  So… why not get a head start?  Although.. I feel like I’ve betrayed Thanksgiving just a little.

I did make that chocolate pumpkin cheesecake for tomorrow’s dessert and it looks wonderful. Not hard to make either..  recipe HERE.

I love old fashioned decorations… especially snowmen and little cottages.
I’ve got them sprinkled throughout the house.

I’m usually one of those who complain when stores rush the season.
What a hypocrite  🙂

  2. The cheesecake looks to die for delicious and the snowmen/women, adorable.

Now, that's quite enough talk of Christmas… I haven't even survived Thanksgiving, yet.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  3. Oh for heaven sakes….. decorate when you feel like it. My thought is that it's our home and under our roof we do as we wish. As you know, my tree in the office was up a few days ago so you know your early holiday decor doesn't bother me in the least. Love your sprinkly little snowmen! They're just so cute!

Have a special Thanksgiving Day, Karen!

  4. Nah, not a hypocrite, just in the mood to celebrate and decorate for Christmas. This weekend is my time!
    Enjoy the holiday tomorrow!

  5. I love getting those sneak peeks at your house! For some odd reason I am kind of in the Christmas spirit myself and ready for decorating too! Love the feel of your decorations- homey and well-loved! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  6. Bring it on! Can't wait to see it all lit up! The cheesecake is too pretty to cut. Beautiful job. Lucky you getting to go somewhere else for a Thanksgiving meal. I'm ready to throw in the towel for the night. Being the host is not for the weak! Have a great Thanksgiving karen ~ debi

  7. Just finished baking the pies, but I must say that pumpkin chocolate cheesecake looks beautiful! My oldest daughter is home from the hospital, so we are having Thanksgiving at her house. So much to be thankful for. My grandkids had to call the rescue unit last week–she had a pulmonary embolism, but thankfully it was not in a deep vein–good news if you are gonna have one!
I love the snowmen–especially that first glittered one holding the wreath! My favorite snowman is my snowsnickle–have you heard of them? They have a real nickel embedded in the base.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family, Karen!

  8. The cheesecake looks very pretty. If it tastes as good as it looks… yum!
I can't possibly comment on your lovely Christmas decorations before Sinterklaas has left the country, which will be the 6th of December 😉

  9. Karen,
Love your old-fashioned goodies! (Pretties my Grandma used to say.) Love the rooster! Love the old-fashioned faucets with soap tray!
I put my tree up last night- the little 4 footer near the fireplace and scattered a few other decorations about. My son and his girlfriend will be here with us tonight and not be back for Christmas. Mostly it is Doug and I and we enjoy our little tree lit and usually keep it up until the first of the year.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
Now we can watch Scrooged and play Christmas music! xo, Cheryl

  10. wow, Karen! when I need a Christmas decorating fix, I'm headed here -smile-. I'm not doing a lot of decorating this year; that takes energy I need for putting one foot in front of the other right now. but I love your decorating and that cheesecake looks delish!

  11. I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving, LOL, even if you are pushing right on through to Christmas. Nothing wrong with that.
