It just keeps getting better

The guys over at Roba Dolce headquarters are getting a kick out of your flavor ideas.  They also said “WOW, blogs are pretty cool!”   And then they asked me to throw this out to you  too –  Not only are they going to pick a winning flavor and ship one of you a case of their sorbetto and gelato – Whoever posts the Roba Dolce button I have over there on the right (you can grab the code below it) on their blog sidebar for a period of a month  (or more! Hey it’s Ok with us!)  will ALSO get a gelato and sorbetto delivery.  After you’ve received the product and sampled it – if you enjoyed it – a brief post on how much you liked it would be appreciated.  If you want to participate in helping us get the word out, simply e-mail me with your blog address and delivery address at karenthisoldhouse@hotmail.com.

We’re still looking for flavor ideas too, so don’t be bashful. Let us know what your favorite flavors are and what combos you might like to see. Be creative!   Personally I’de love to see a rootbeer float gelato!…

  1. You wouldn't believe it, but ruby red grapefruit is an outstanding flavor (I think sorbet, but I wouldn't bet against gelato). Also, Texas inspired: peach/pecan.

    Maybe Bailey's and almond?

I guess I'd better go start supper before I eat my Mac.

  2. my blog is very small, but I'll be glad to put the button up!
I was going to say Peach pecan, but someone beat me to it…what about a chocolate mint marshmallow flavor? I made mint marshmallows around Christmas, and they were delicious!

  3. Well, living in Maine I have ice cream all year, most do up here. My favorites are simple Dark Choc,
Why don't they try a GINGER, NO FAT, O CALORIE
Thousands want a clean taste and O calories. Oh! Please Make Ginger.. I don't try all those flavors that are mixed up. Keep it simple.

  4. I'm in! Better indeed. Now I have my husband, Mr. entrepreneur googling and wondering what the business/franchise opportunities are!

You have to stop making me want to eat Gelatto for breakfast however 🙂

  5. I have a small, relatively new blog (just a year old) but have gladly posted the button.

Oh, and my flavor choice would be Snow Cream. Okay, so that may be a lot like vanilla but, living in the south, my mom and grandmother would always make bowl of it anytime we would get a big snow. To me, it was more more of a treat than just a plain bowl of vanilla ice cream.

  6. Button is up and I will email my info to you…although I know you already have it! How about Chocolate or Vanilla Chai?? Love that stuff!!

  7. I'm so happy to see all the different flavors! Will "try" to put the button; blogger doesn't always let me use codes. If I can't do it, then I'll ask for your help. 🙂

  8. Hi Karen, I posted your adorable button on my blog : ) … My flavor choice would be either salty pistachio, strawberry cheesecake or if it can be done peanut butter and chocolate (which in my opinion there is nothing better).

  9. I wasn't sure where to post my idea, so please excuse the fact that I put this comment on the other thread too.

Gelatto: I'd love to see a Coffee Toffee Mocha Crunch – coffee ice cream with crunchy bits of toffee and chocolate chips. I make this concoction at home and it's always a huge hit.

I posted the button and sent you an email with my information. Thanks for allowing my blog to be a part of this grass roots effort.

    🙂

  10. I found your blog on Savvy Southern Style and wanted to drop in and say hello! You have a beautiful home! I look forward to following your blog!

  11. Ohhhh, I'm sure this offer doesn't count for overseas blogpeople? The gelato will have melted by the time it arrives in our part of the world I guess. Still, I'm very tempted to post the button. Just because I love the thought. I've missed a lot of posts because of my troubled laptop, but I have a new laptop now. I'll have to catch up on the gelato flavor ideas. How cruel can one be to oneself, hehe. Reading about delicious flavored gelato without being able to taste it. I must be MAD!

  12. Goodbye, cruel world! I have dived into the dish and drowned in sorbet and gelato. See the smile on my face?
What was that sentence from When Harry Met Sally? "I'll have what she's having"………
Good to meet you, Karen 😀

  13. I suppose Salmon and Cheese isn't high on the list? It sure would work to take the place of a typical Friday night dinner in Wisconsin…just a thought….Hugs- Diana

  14. I'm all for the Root Beer Float idea!

    I'll add:

Gelato — New York Egg Cream or Vanilla Caramel Coffee

Sorbetto — Lemon Thyme, Watermelon, or Melonberry (Canteloupe and chunks of blueberries)

Oh this was fun! I'm off to add your button to my sidebar.

  15. I should be working, but instead I keep having flavor ideas running through my head. I think you should do a gelato version of Cookie's n' Cream, using an Italian cookie.

First I thought of Pepperidge Farm Milanos, because I love them so and think they would be great, but to be cost effective I guess you'd need to use something like mustaccioli (chocolate and almond cookies) or amaretti.

  16. I posted the button to my blog and already sent you an email. Most of my favorite flavor ideas are already posted… grapefruit, lime, marionberry… What about a berry with a spice. I made a blackberry pie with cinnamon once. It was delicious. Love Chai tea… sweet, spicy.
