This is a video of the young woman who just two days ago won the AQHA World Show Amatuer Trail class in Oklahoma. For those of you who are not of the horsey set, this is like winning the Olympics! Our little farms were side by side for many years and I am proud to say I KNEW HER WHEN!..
Many years of blood, sweat and tears, heart ache and hard work went into this win.
Congratulations SARAH and TUG!!!!!……..
A blast from the past:
On the left- Sarah on her first horse Maggie and sister Casey riding Missy
The girls had braided feathers in their horses manes for the family Christmas card.
No horses have ever been loved more,
and no one I know has ever worked harder to achieve her goal.
Congratulations to this young lady…a testament to the fact that hard work pays off! Hugs-Diana
So exciting! I hope she gets everything she deserves for all her hard work. Congrats to all!!!
Very nice. and even she would have to admit, it may never be that perfect again! Beautiful, and oh, so hard to do.
Wow! So impressive! Awesome work and lovely connection between rider and horse!!!! xo Cait
This is very exciting! She finally got what she worked so hard for! And…you now know a champion!!
That is too cool. I bet you were very excited for her. Love the before and after shots. Congrts to your old friend.
I went to a horse show many years ago with my wife, on some "Kings Ranch" property that is near us. I was not looking forward to this little venture at. My wife is a "horse person" but I am not. Fear being the main reason.
But when we went that day, I was blown away by everything I saw. Very impressive animals, the competition was great it was an awesome day.I walked around wide eyed like a 8 year old, impressed with these athletes that control those HUGE animals.
How fabulous for your friend; you GO girl! How does she keep that hat on her head?
I loved, loved, loved watching this video! So very impressive. Never mind the relaxed horse that didn't put a foot wrong and the subtle way Sarah rides her horse. I'm impressed that she remembered what to do where! I can't even remember which jump comes after the first one
😉
D'you think that something of that relaxedness (is that a word?) rubbs of on me and Naloma, since I sort of know you and you know her? I'll have to show Naloma the video. She'll love it.
I can so imagine you are proud of your friend.
(I'm looking out of the window while I'm typing this – I can type blind – and I'm seeing hubs walking with Evie in our outdoor arena (it's dark, but the lights around the arena are on) and he has put an elastic girth and a saddle blanket on her for the very first time. She is accepting it as if it's normal! I'm so excited! Had to look twice. First I thought he was walking with Naloma, but it's definitely Evie. I'm a proud mom ;-))
I know nothing about horses…and found that video an amazing thing to watch! Wow!
Hello my friend, Yes, you made me cry yet again! Thank you for posting such a special story from your heart. This is by far such a wonderful year for our family. We were blessed with Addison, our first grandchild, and then a world champion! Who could ask for more?
Karen, I will never forget our sleepovers in the barn with the girls and their ponies, coyotes howling in the backround, and our irish coffees. And let's not forget the Berlin Fair and the girls ribbons. They were so proud! They worked so hard….and so did we!
Thanks Karen from the bottom of my heart!!
